Explora Journeys ocean voyage — For honeymooners
For honeymooners

Your first trip as a married couple shouldn't feel like everyone else's.

An Explora Journeys honeymoon: ocean-front suites, private terraces, slow port days, and the kind of quiet that lets the trip actually land.

The decision behind the decision

You only get one of these. Choosing well is the whole game.

There are different ships, suite categories, seasons, and overnight ports — and the wrong combination can leave you with a beautiful trip you don't quite remember. The right one becomes the story you tell for the next thirty years.

Why Explora for honeymoons

Adult-leaning calm, ocean-front terraces, and overnights where they matter.

Every Explora suite is ocean-front with a private terrace — there's no inside cabin, no obstructed view, no afterthought. You wake up in Santorini at sunrise, or in a Norwegian fjord in long northern light, with no one between you and the water.

The ship runs at an adult pace. No waterslides, no kids' clubs at megaship scale, no announcements. Two formal evenings without the stiffness, nine restaurants without specialty covers, and overnights in the ports where dinner ashore actually matters.

Travel as story, not itinerary.

Before planning travel, Louis spent two decades helping luxury brands tell better stories. He started at Leo Burnett, working on Motorola and Morgan Stanley. He went on to lead brand strategy at Calvin Klein, John Varvatos, and Tommy Hilfiger, and later served as CMO at several venture-backed consumer brands.

He studied Folklore and Mythology at Harvard and design at Parsons. Both degrees shaped the same instinct: that the best experiences are the ones with a point of view. The ones that know what they are, and why it matters.

Suite at Sea is built on that instinct. Not every cruise line deserves your time. Explora Journeys does. The ships are smaller, the suites are better, and the pace is designed around the traveler, not the itinerary.

Common questions

Is Explora Journeys good for honeymoons?

It's one of the strongest fits at sea. Every suite has a private terrace, the atmosphere is adult-leaning and quiet, and overnights in ports like Santorini and St. Barths give you actual romantic evenings ashore — not a six-hour rush back to the ship.

Which Explora suite should we book for a honeymoon?

Most honeymooners are happiest in an Ocean Terrace Suite (intimate, beautifully designed, real private terrace) or stepping up to an Ocean Penthouse for the extra space if you'll be in-suite a lot. We'll match the category to how you actually want the trip to feel.

What are the most romantic Explora itineraries?

Greek Isles & the Aegean (overnight Santorini), Western Mediterranean (Provence, Portofino, Capri), and Eastern Caribbean (overnight St. Barths) are our most-requested honeymoon sailings.

Do honeymooners get any special amenities?

Yes — most Explora sailings include a honeymoon recognition with champagne and a small surprise in-suite, and our preferred-partner status often layers on additional credit. We'll tell you exactly what's on the table for your sailing.
