The cruise built for people who thought they weren't cruise people.
If you've stayed at Four Seasons, Aman, and Belmond on land but never been on a cruise — Explora is the right place to start. Here's why, and what to know.
Most cruises are wrong for you. One isn't.
If you've avoided cruising because the picture in your head is megaships, buffets, and bingo nights — fair. Explora is none of that. The question is whether this specific sailing, in this suite, in this season, matches the way you actually want to travel. That's the call we help you make.

A small ship, a private terrace, an honest all-inclusive.
Under 1,000 guests, every suite ocean-front with a private terrace, no inside categories. The vibe is closer to a private yacht than a cruise — adult-leaning, design-forward, slow.
Genuinely all-inclusive: nine restaurants, fine wines and premium spirits, wellness, Wi-Fi, gratuities. You won't get nickel-and-dimed on the trip you booked to relax on.

Travel as story, not itinerary.
Before planning travel, Louis spent two decades helping luxury brands tell better stories. He started at Leo Burnett, working on Motorola and Morgan Stanley. He went on to lead brand strategy at Calvin Klein, John Varvatos, and Tommy Hilfiger, and later served as CMO at several venture-backed consumer brands.
He studied Folklore and Mythology at Harvard and design at Parsons. Both degrees shaped the same instinct: that the best experiences are the ones with a point of view. The ones that know what they are, and why it matters.
Suite at Sea is built on that instinct. Not every cruise line deserves your time. Explora Journeys does. The ships are smaller, the suites are better, and the pace is designed around the traveler, not the itinerary.

Common questions
I've never been on a cruise. Will Explora feel like one?
It won't feel like the cruise you're imagining. There are ~900 guests, no waterslides, no buffet lines, no formal nights you can't opt out of. Most of our first-time-cruise clients describe it as 'a small floating hotel that happens to move.'
What do I need to know before I book my first Explora sailing?
Three things: the suite category matters more than the ship choice, the itinerary should match how you like to travel (slow vs ports-heavy), and pre/post hotel stays in the embarkation city are worth the extra two days. We'll guide all three.
How does cruising compare to a high-end resort week?
A week at Explora typically prices similar to or below a comparable week at a Four Seasons or Aman, once you add flights, meals, and beverages at the resort. The big difference: you wake up in a different city or coastline most mornings without packing.
What's the catch?
Honestly? You give up some flexibility — you can't decide on day three to change destinations. And it's still a ship, so sea days are part of the program. If you love both of those, it's a near-perfect first cruise.
